This a small business with a big vision. Owned and operated by Claire Greenlow BSc MRes AATQB (me!), I’ve built a reputation as a business ASSET, rather than as just a necessity.
Because I pioneered using only cloud-based accounting and bookkeeping, I offer services to anyone in the UK with access to the web. I’m personally based in the London Borough of Bromley, serving surrounding areas such as Kent, Surrey, Essex and London for those of you looking for in-person services.
I’m fully qualified drawing upon considerable experience, with additional background in large data management and statistical analysis. I specialise in working with freelancers, small businesses and limited companies. And I love helping startups and fledgling businesses with growth.
I have built my business on producing a quality service, rather than taking on a large number of clients. Quality over quantity. It means I can offer the important (and these days, quite rare) benefit of keeping the bookkeeper-to-client ratio small. The oft-stated ‘six-figure’ goal is not what drives me in my business plans, I’m about enjoying the job that I do and the people I work with. In my experience with many accountancy and bookkeeping firms, I was finding that so many clients hadn't even met the people working on their books! So, I wanted to be different, and this is my promise to:

With previous work for not-so-organised employers, I am used to (and rather enjoy!) the challenge of making sense out of a ramshackle pile of paperwork or digital files, and turning it into something clear and informative.
What’s in a name?
You may have been wondering why my business has a bit of a seemingly left-of-field name. I have had some bright sparks asking if it’s to do with Fibonacci and Natural numbers. Whilst I give top marks for the effort and knowledge, I’m afraid I can’t give myself that much credit! It definitely sealed the deal for the final name, but that’s not what had ‘Ammonite’ pop into my head.
Quite simply, the name comes from my scientific background, and being an utter fossil nerd.
After starting out in accounting, and a degree in Accounting and Finance, I actually ended up with an academic career. My job was the study of ancient humans and their teeth. It was certainly niche – but I loved it! Feel free to ask me about hunting for Neanderthals in the Dordogne, horse-back trekking ancient Native American cliff-dwellings, or scaring myself silly opening the wrong cupboard at the Natural History Museum and coming face-to-face with a taxidermy gorilla.
Luckily for you though, accountancy lured me back in. And nowadays you’ll usually find me in my little navy blue office, doing client work on a few screens and surrounded by shelves of fossils and artefacts. When coming up with a business name, it was my shelves of fossil ammonites that were right in front of me. It’s definitely my happy place.

I want to offer my clients the most convenient, cost effective, and innovative services. Because experience has shown me that this is what drives your business forward. I have teamed up with what has become a wide-range of cloud-based accounting solutions in order to offer you a complete, personalised package. You won’t find me echoing those who have focused on a single partner (‘Xero-only’ practices, I’m looking at you). That’s an approach that best benefits THEM, not YOU.
